Summer is right around the corner! Encounter animals. Concoct experiments. Construct robots. No matter what your kids do, or how old they are, every day of summer will be packed full of adventure, excitement, and opportunities to explore science and know wonder.

Camp Prices
Members: $290/week
Non-members: $320/week

Camp Add-Ons
Morning Care: $20/week (from 8:00am to 8:55am)
Afternoon Care: $40/week (from 3:00pm to 5:30pm)
Boxed Lunch: $30/week (vegetarian and omnivore options available)

Wondering which camp to choose?

Register for the camp appropriate to the grade your camper will enter in the Fall 2017 school year. All of our camps embrace hands-on learning, where campers explore science and embrace it as a way of knowing.

Four-year-olds must reach their 4th birthday by the first day of the camp you've registered for (proof of age required). All campers must be potty-trained and able to use the bathroom independently prior to starting camp.

 

Schedule at a Glance

Our official camp hours are from 9:00am-3:00pm. With our extended care programs added on, you can drop your child off at any time between 8:00-9:00am and pick them up between 3:30-5:30pm.

Astro-Tots
Week of: June 26 | July 24 | August 7

Calling all astronauts, get ready for a week of out-of-this-world fun! We’ll navigate through the solar system, make stops to explore different planetary environments, investigate the mythology of the night sky inside our portable planetarium, and more.

  • Meet live animals that inspired constellations
  • Test effects of space on marshmallow astronauts
  • Explore the cosmos inside our portable planetarium, StarLab
Foodie Fun
Week of: July 3 | July 24 | August 14 | August 21

Stir up your scientific curiosity! We’ll use your senses to become food detectives and discover scientific secrets in your favorite recipes. *This camp includes an additional $10 materials fee.

  • Investigate the physics of popping corn, baking bread, and preserving fruit
  • Start your own herb garden
  • Learn about healthy food choices and practice inventing your own recipes
Museumology
Week of: June 12 | July 10 | July 31

Explore the Museum's exhibits like never before! Each day we'll investigate a new exhibit as we discover science in Explore The Wild, Launch Lab, the Sailboat Pond, and more!

  • Visit some of the live animals that call the Museum home and then have an up-close encounter with one of our education animals
  • Build a boat to sail down the stream in Hideaway Woods
Doctors in Training
Week of: June 26 | July 17 | August 7

Can an apple a day keep the doctor away? Find out as we spend the week exploring body systems, and learn how doctors help to keep us healthy!

  • Use a stethoscope to listen to your heart
  • Observe real x-rays and create an x-ray model of your hand
  • Investigate the nutrition of some of our favorite snacks
Artist's Laboratory
Week of: June 12 | July 10 | July 31

Science is full of colors! Join us as we use science and nature to explore art like never before. Enjoy a week full of hands-on experiments and creation.

Jungle Explorers
Week of: June 19 | July 17

Have you ever seen a leaf as big as an umbrella or a frog the size of your fingernail? We’ll spend the week exploring the variety of life throughout the rainforest. What sights and sounds will you encounter as we trek through the jungle?

  • Explore the Butterfly House on a tropical plant hunt

Animal Adventures
Week of: July 3 | July 24 | August 14

Calling all creature lovers! Join us for a week of animal investigations as we explore how animals adapt and survive in unique habitats.

  • Meet live animals and learn how to protect wildlife around the world
  • Use your senses to investigate the natural world around you
  • Plant flowers that help attract honey bees and other pollinators

Let’s get moving! Join us for a week of hands-on engineering and physics fun.

Week of: July 17 | July 31

Let’s work together to build the biggest, tallest, strongest buildings we can. Think your camper is ready to construct some truly amazing structures and have a blast doing it? Let’s get building!

Get ready to blast off with an entire week of space exploration! We’ll embark on missions that explore the mysteries of the universe, search for life on other planets, and even make our own craters and clouds.

Kitchen Chemistry

This is not your ordinary kitchen! Join us as we create fun concoctions that pop and fizz, and explore chemical changes in baking, freezing, mixing, and eating. *This camp includes an additional $10 materials fee.

  • Learn about nutrition and test your favorite foods in the food lab

Rainforest Rangers

Week of: July 10 | July 24

Calling all young inventors, it’s time to create! We’ll use LEGO Robotics kits created just for early learners and kid-friendly programming to set our own creature-themed robots in motion.

  • Design and create enrichment toys for a Museum animal
  • Investigate animal anatomy and work together to dissect owl pellets
  • Practice caring for injured animals using plush friends
Ready, Set, Experiment!
Week of: July 17 | July 31

Calling all super scientists! Join us for a week full of experiments from astronomy to zoology and everything in between.

  • Layer liquids with different densities to make a colorful column
  • Test some everyday materials to create and launch your own rocket

Space Explorers
Week of: June 12 | July 10 | July 31

Do you have what it takes to travel to space? We’ll journey through the universe as we investigate rocky planets, moons, and space beyond our solar system!

  • Complete aerospace engineering challenges

Food Truck Rodeo
Week of: June 19 | July 17 | August 7

Are you ready to rumble...with new creative ideas? Join us as we go through the delicious process of starting a food truck! *This camp includes an additional $10 materials fee.

  • Explore tastes from around the world and find inspiration for a signature dish
  • Investigate different ingredients and how to prepare them

Physician’s Apprentice

We’re turning back the clock on science! We’ll spend the week travelling through time as we investigate the ways science has shaped the world we know today. *This camp is held in a sheltered outdoor classroom.

Behind the Scenes at Life + Science
Week of: July 3 | July 17 | August 14

Spend the week exploring the different sciences and exhibits housed at the Museum of Life and Science. We’ll engage in exciting experiments and try our hand at designing your own mini museum.

  • Go behind the scenes and explore the Museum’s invertebrate collection

Amazing Architects
Week of: July 17 | July 31

Calling all young architects, it’s time to design, plan and construct the tallest, strongest and most beautiful buildings we can!

  • Construct massive structures and test how durable they are
  • Create blueprints for your own life-sized structures built from everyday materials
  • Plan a miniature urban cityscape, and populate it with your own mini cities
Vets in Training

  • Explore animal diets and dissect owl pellets
  • Investigate flight science and feather aerodynamics
LEGO™ Robotics EV3
Week of: July 10 | July 31

Join us for an entire week of building and programing fun! We’ll use LEGO’s Mindstorm EV3 kits as we design, build, and program our own creations.

  • Work as a team to solve tricky engineering challenges
  • Incorporate color and ultrasonic sensing capabilities into your robot
  • Build a robot in preparation for the culminating event: the SumoBot battle
Minecraft™ Mania
Week of: June 19 | July 3 | August 7

Get ready to investigate the world of video game science like never before with this in-depth Minecraft adventure camp.

  • Conduct physics experiments with in-game objects
  • Use teamwork to complete daily challenges

Changes & Cancellations
The Museum can grant refunds and perform session changes only when received before May 26, 2017. Each session change or refund comes with a $30.00 change/cancellation fee per camp. After May 26, 2017 we are not able to process any changes or refunds.
