Celebrate fall with a ride on the Pumpkin Patch Express!

Climb aboard the Ellerbe Creek Railway for a journey to the Museum's pumpkin patch. Pick the perfect pumpkin to decorate and take home, then enjoy crafts and a variety of carnival games before returning to the station.

*Pre-registration required. Children 2 and under free.

*General admission to the Museum is not included in your ticket cost. Please be prepared to purchase admission (or have your membership card checked) upon arrival to the Museum.

Tickets purchased in advance will be available at the Admission Desk. Tickets available for sale online until 2 hours before train time. Any remaining tickets will be available for sale at the door. See FAQ for more information.


FAQ

Important Notes:

  • Bring your confirmation email to the Admissions Desk located in the main lobby of the Museum.
  • Every 5 children must be accompanied by at least one adult. 

  • Trains run on a strict schedule; please allow yourself time for parking, check-in, and time to make your way to the train station (we suggest 45 minutes before your scheduled train time). 

  • One ticket = one pumpkin

Are tickets transferable?

Yes, all tickets are transferable and we encourage participants to give their tickets to friends or family if they are unable to attend. They must present your original confirmation email at the event check-in to receive their event tickets. 


Are there any refunds?

While this is an outdoor event, most weather conditions, including light rain, do not prevent us from running the train. Our highest priority is the safety and comfort of our guests. 


In the event the train is unable to operate due to high winds, mechanical issues, heavy rain, or thunderstorms, we will provide notice by 9:00 am via email to the ticket buyer and leave a pre-recorded phone message at (919) 220-5429 ext. 344.

Should we have to cancel a full or partial day for safety concerns, we will offer to reschedule you on another day, fully refund your ticket, or gratefully accept your donation. 


Please make your reservation and check your confirmation carefully to ensure you have booked the correct date and time. The Museum is not responsible for errors made during the registration process by the buyer.

Can I change the date/time of my tickets?

We are happy to assist you in changing your train date and time. All exchanges are based on availability and are subject to a $10 change fee per order. Changes can be made by calling the Museum at (919) 220-5429 ext. 313, Monday thru Friday between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.

Availability is not guaranteed.
