What do I need to make a reservation?
To register for TinkerTech Family Workshops, you only need to click on the button “Register For TinkerTech Family Workshops Here” on the Pricing and Booking page. If you are experiencing trouble with registering or do not have access to a computer, please call our Reservations Staff at (919) 220-5420 ext. 313.

When can I register for the TinkerTech Family Workshops?
Registration is currently open for the spring sessions!

Is there a cancellation policy?
The Museum can grant refunds only when received by the end of business the Friday the week before the session. After the Friday the week before the workshops, we are not able to process any refunds. You may cancel your registration by calling the Museum at (919) 220-5429 ext. 313, Monday thru Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm.

Are you able to accommodate my child with medical allergies and/or special needs?
Yes! The Museum is committed to full and equal opportunity for participants to enjoy the workshop experience and reasonable modifications will be considered. If your child has serious behavioral, physical, or psychological considerations, please discuss learner readiness with the Program Coordinator directly at  tinkertech@ncmls.org. We are also happy to work with you to accommodate food allergies/intolerances.

What should my child bring to class?
We recommend you bring a snack, water bottle, and weather appropriate clothing including closed-toe shoes for indoor and outdoor Museum exploration. All material costs are included in the price of program.

I have a stroller/baby in a carrier and I’m coming to a TinkerTech Family Workshop with my older child. What do I do with my stroller/carrier?
The museum has dedicated stroller parking throughout campus as strollers are not permitted in the workshop classroom. Please note that the classroom is not a safe space for toddlers/walking children under 6 year of age.

Is this program impacted by inclement weather?
Workshops take place rain or shine.

Can I change workshop dates/time?
You can change your registration up to the end of business the Wednesday before the workshop. After the Wednesday before the workshops we are not able to process any changes. Changes are based on availability and can be made by calling the Museum at (919) 220-5429 ext. 313, Monday thru Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm. Availability is not guaranteed. Changes are complimentary.

My child is interested in attending the workshop but is not 6 years old yet. Can they still attend?
The workshops cannot accommodate a child under 6 years old. Feel free to tinker in our exhibits or complete some DIY activities until your child is of age!

Members receive UNLIMITED admission all year long!
