AfterHours Up Close: Bees, Beer, & Butterflies

August 19

6 pm – 9 pm

Leave the kids at home; this event is for adults 21+!

Join us at the Museum’s Magic Wings Butterfly House and the Bayer Insectarium for an up-close look into the buzzing world of bees, beer, and butterflies! Enjoy a beverage from our cash bars, talk to brewing, entomology, and horticulture experts, or simply stretch out and relax on the lawn under a summertime sunset.

Immerse yourself among 30 – 50 different global species of butterflies, observe honeybees at work, or delight in the beauty of 200 species of tropical plants in our butterfly conservatory. Learn about pollinators from our Entomology Specialists and meet some of the exotic insects that call the Museum home. Take part in a very special butterfly release and watch a variety of newly emerged Lepidoptera take flight for the first time!
