Innovators Society

The Museum’s Innovators Society provides our most generous supporters, with annual cumulative giving at $250 and above, the opportunity to make a deeper connection with our mission and build a community among our supporters.

Your support is vital to the Museum! Innovators are invited to participate in select events, and programs, that provide unique access to the Museum and leadership.

Your contribution will help us nurture and grow this beloved institution.

The Innovators Society is more than additional benefits – it is an investment in the future of the Museum.

FAQ

Why is the Museum making changes?
Like most institutions, we revisit our donor programs regularly and adjust as needed. The Museum wants to provide donor opportunities with clear tax-deductible benefits, delineating between our Explorer membership program and philanthropic giving.

What is the impact of my Innovators Society gift?
Individual support, above and beyond Explorer memberships and admissions, is an indispensable resource for the Museum. It sustains a range of discretionary and programmatic needs, from exhibitions and educational programs to animal care and wetlands conservation – supporting what the Museum does all year long – making science learning interactive, exciting, and fun.

I’m a current Chrysalis or Woodland Society member, what do I need to do?
If you are a current Chrysalis or Woodland Society member, then as of July 1, you will be rolled into our new Innovators Society. As your membership expires, you can renew through our new Innovators Society. A Development team member would be happy to personally assist you through this renewal process. Please email us at development@lifeandscience.org or call us at 919.220.5429 ext.257.

Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes, a qualifying gift to our Innovators Society is fully tax-deductible, with a few exceptions.

Do Innovators Society benefits include an Explorer membership to the Museum?
No, with these new changes, Innovators Society benefits do not include an Explorer membership. This change means more flexibility in how you give, allowing all donations, including those from Donor Advised Funds and IRA Rollovers, to be processed as 100% tax-deductible contributions.
