Butterfly Lifecycles
Grades PreK — 2
Fly high into the world of butterflies with this immersive insect experience. Your students will get a butterfly wing specimen to take home with them to remember all they’ve learned!

LEGO® Robotics
Grades Pre-K — 5
Design your own robot using LEGO WeDo 2.0! Build, program, and experiment with your LEGO models featuring working motors and sensors. Collaborate with your fellow students to control how your robot sounds and moves.

STEM Design Challenge

Experience the engineering design process first-hand by tackling a parachute challenge. Your class will collaborate in teams to engage in a unique problem-solving session to make their parachute escape the wind tube!

Force and Motion
Grades 3 — 8
We’ll send a sail car skimming down a low-friction track and measure its speed with our Vernier motion sensors. For each trial, we’ll use the engineering design cycle to graph how force and motion work together to influence how things move.

Weather
Grades 2 – 5
Rain or shine, we’ll use maps and instruments just like professional meteorologists in this hands-on program all about weather. Your class will experience a moment of wonder as they conjure a cloud they can hold in their hands.

StarLab
Grades K — 8
Immerse yourselves in a universe of wonder as we journey through the solar system. Brace yourselves as you blast off from Earth and take in the view from above. Rotate from day into night and watch the moon wax and wane right before your eyes. Travel to the outer reaches of our galaxy and enjoy some highlights of our solar system along the way.
StarLab requires a quiet, indoor space large enough to accommodate its 11-foot height and 40-foot diameter.

Prices
At the Museum (Available Tuesday – Friday)
$175 for a 50 minute program*
$90 for a 30 minute program*
*Classroom programs have a capacity of 30 students per program session.
At your location (Available Monday – Friday)
$225 for a one-hour program**
** Programs at your location are booked by the hour. Classroom programs have a capacity of 30 students per program session. If you are interested in a science night or other large group program, be sure to make mention it in the comments section of your request form!

We also charge $.073 per mile (round-trip) for programs that take place beyond Durham County.
Cancellation — Please Read!
We are happy to cancel or reschedule reservations for visits more than two weeks away. Note that reservations with programs that are canceled, with less than two weeks’ notice, will incur a $100 late cancellation fee per session. Notification of cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to reservations@lifeandscience.org
