Engineers Day

March 2

10 am – 3 pm

Included with admission

Calling all Tinkers, Thinkers, Makers, and Gamers! In March, we celebrate World Engineering Day, a UNESCO celebration of engineers and their work for sustainable development. Join us for activities and demonstrations from local robotics, makerspace, and technology organizations. With drop-in opportunities and timed programs, this event is sure to be a packed day!

Joining us for the event:

  • Splatspace, exploring engineering concepts with hands-on activities!
  • Eco-Vate, showcasing the different opportunities for 3-D printer action.
  • Electrical engineer Kendra Settles, sharing her expertise with circuitry activities.
  • The NC State High Powered Rocketry Club, with (you guessed it) rockets!

Workshop opportunity:
Last but not least, the Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with support from the Quantum Computing Club at NC State, will be leading beginner-friendly sessions on quantum computing! These sessions will help teach attendees what quantum computing is and how to build a basic quantum circuit via Qiskit. They are recommended for children between 2nd – 5th grade.

WiECE was created to provide a safe and welcoming space for female-identifying students and their advocates to learn and grow as leaders in ECE & STEM. After sharing their quantum computing exploration with elementary schools, we’re bringing this program to the Museum for Engineers Day! This program is included with admission to the Museum and requires pre-registration.
