Celebrate biotechnology in our brand-new Lab space! Learn how biotechnology impacts every level of our lives- from genetic engineering and nanotechnology to farming, painting, and more! Engage with activities, demonstrations, and conversations with scientists and organizations working in the field as you explore the Museum.
\On Saturday, get hands-on in the Lab with deep-dive workshops, led by local scientists and experts. On Sunday (a Durham Community Day), dabble in many forms of biotech with drop-in programs throughout the Museum!
On Saturday, January 10, as part of the Biotech Blast Family event, we’ll take a deep dive into the field of biotechnology with a series of short talks and hands-on activities from 3 pm – 5 pm. Teens and families are invited to connect with local scientists on the latest developments in biotech research to discover how humans could harness axolotl limb-regeneration, examine genetically-modified, glowing nematodes, and more!
This event is free with admission, or you can register for free to attend the 3 pm – 5 pm session only.
