AfterHours: Science of Beer
May 14
6:30 pm – 10 pm
Museum Members: $40, General Public: $45
Leave the kids at home! This event is for adults 21+!
Join us for everyone’s favorite beer-themed event, where the worlds of beer and science collide! Explore the Museum’s exhibits after hours while your favorite local breweries serve up samples and the science behind them all evening long. We’ll delve into all things beer with themed activities, demonstrations, crafts, and more!
Hop over to test your strength and prowess in the Stein-Holding Qualifiers, our Beerathalon, and Bull City Pepper Co.’s hot sauce eating contest! Then relax and make bottlecap magnets and jewelry in our biergarten with Crafts & Drafts while listening to the lively String Break Band.
Don’t miss Flying Bull Beer Company’s Off-Flavors demonstration and Wake Tech’s Beer Sensory Experiment! The Ellerbe Creek Railway will be open for train rides until sunset.
Your ticket includes:
- A commemorative Science of Beer cup
- Beverage & food samples from local vendors
- Access to our Main Building, Hideaway Woods, and Magic Wings Butterfly House
“New Age Soul” & “50Kitchen” food trucks will also be on site for purchase. Not a big beer drinker, but love science? Don’t fret! We’ll have a variety of options outside of beer, including wine and a specialty mocktail available for purchase at our cash bar.
All money raised from this event will benefit our conservation and education initiatives that help inspire lifelong learning.
