AfterHours: Science of Fear
October 29
6:30 – 10:00 pm
This event is 21+
It’s the season of scares, and the Museum is simply crawling with fright and fun! Come dressed in your best costume to celebrate Halloween with spooky crafts, fearsome games, and expert insights into the biology behind our deepest fears. And it’s not all tricks; treat yourself to food and drink samples from local vendors!
The party continues with DJ Damien Maass, bumping tunes on our Train Plaza that will get you moving! Hop on the Ellerbe Creek Railway to get some air before you rejoin the fray, then see if you can keep your head through a series of (opt-in) scary challenges around the event. Scour the Dinosaur Trail to help break the Curse of the Cretaceous that is afflicting our campus, keep your heart rate down as you face the unknown at the Magic Wings Butterfly House, and – for the truly brave (or overconfident) – sign up for the Terror Trials, a gauntlet of challenges that pit you against yourself and your fellow players!
Food trucks Pana’s Flavors and The Blue Window will be on site for purchase. Our cash bar accepts cash and card and will offer wine, beer, and a specialty mocktail for purchase.
