Science Together
Forging robust partnerships with academia, industry, practice, and community to accelerate the reach and impact of scientific discovery.
Today, Museums are more than a glass case for artifacts, they are critical sites of connection across ideologies and knowledge boundaries, where science happens; information is not merely stored, but shared, applied, collected, and reimagined. Museums bring scientific and broader communities together—and we can’t do it without you!
As of 2026, research suggests that 75% of Americans cannot name a living scientist (Research!America, 2026). Let’s change that. Let’s do science together!
What We Do:
The Museum has partnered with scientists, universities, businesses, and communities for decades to co-develop cutting-edge public science engagements. Our area of expertise is innovating meaningful and appropriate ways to better involve the public in the processes of ongoing scientific discovery.
There are a lot of ways to get started partnering with us.

Join an event:
STEM professionals bring science to life for Museum guests! Individuals and organizations connect directly with families on special Scientist Spotlight days or at events like Black Excellence in Science and Party for the Planet. There are also opportunities to engage older students at our Teen Science Cafe and Youth Climate Summit, as well as adult audiences at our Afterhours events.

Science Communication Trainings:
The Museum offers training, technical assistance, and professional preparation programs for undergraduates, grad students, early career professionals and scientists, and faculty on creative engagement and communication strategy.

Scientist in Residence Program:
The Museum supports a 6-month residency for interested and qualified scientists to build their science communication skills and co-develop educational materials and programming about their work, which they facilitate with visitors in our exhibits.

Living Labs:
Are you doing human subject research with children and families? The Museum’s Living Labs project (based on the Museum of Science’s Living Laboratory model) partners with social scientists, linguists, education researchers, and evaluators conducting ethical research with guests at the Museum.

Broader Impacts Partnerships:
Broader Impacts are vital to ensuring Americans understand and benefit from publicly-funded science. Consider involving the Museum early to develop creative, bespoke, embedded education and engagement projects as part of your research.

Co-Developed Research:
The Museum conducts participatory social and educational research into how people learn and engage with science. We’ve trailblazed large-scale regional and national initiatives like the NISE Network, the South Atlantic RISA, the Center for Collaborative Heat Monitoring, and more! Reach out and learn more about how we could build something new together.
