Beginning Tuesday, March 11, portions of the Museum’s first floor, including Weather and Blue Blocks, will temporarily close to make way for new experiences — but the rest of the Museum building and outdoor exhibits are open. Please follow the “In the Works” detour signs to Play to Learn, Aerospace, and the second floor.

What construction is happening at the Museum?
The Museum is undergoing an exciting transformation, including new exhibits, improved guest amenities, and updated facilities to enhance the visitor experience. Look for the “In the Works” signs around the Museum for more information on upcoming construction.

Why is the Museum doing construction?
We are investing in the Museum’s future to create more engaging experiences for our guests, improve accessibility, and ensure the sustainability of our exhibits and infrastructure.

Will the Museum remain open during construction?
Yes! While some areas may be temporarily closed or rerouted, the majority of the Museum, including popular exhibits and attractions, will remain open.

Will there be noise or disruptions during my visit?
Some construction-related noise may be present in certain areas, but we are working to minimize disruptions and keep the Museum experience as enjoyable as possible. If needed, we have sensory-friendly tools at the front desk.
