April 9: Bilingual Storytime with Book Harvest
Book Harvest, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Turning Pages is a bilingual (English/Spanish) Storytime for all ages, with welcome songs and a story followed by an animal encounter.
April 11: StarLab with the JES Avanti Foundation
Heritage: A Gathering Place, 10 – 11 am
Immerse yourselves in a universe of wonder as we journey through the solar system. Rotate from day into night and watch the moon wax and wane right before your eyes. Brace yourselves as you blast off from Earth and take in the view from above!
April 18: Morrisville Springfest
Indian Creek Trailhead, 11 am – 2 pm
Springfest is Morrisville’s annual celebration of all things spring. We’ll be out there facilitating a pollinator activity! This flower-powered event offers fun for the whole family.
April 19: Durham Earth Day Festival
Durham Central Park, 12 – 5 pm
Join us in celebrating Earth Day 2026 as we unite to honor and protect the planet. We’ll be there with a special activity about recycling and biodegradable materials! This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” highlights the incredible potential everyone has to drive positive change for the environment. From individuals to communities, and businesses to governments, we all hold the power to create a sustainable future.
April 22: Earth Day Storywalk with Book Harvest
Edison Johnson Trail, 4 – 7 pm
Join us for an unforgettable afternoon exploring nature through stories! Pick up your Book Harvest Nature Explorer kit and embark on a guided trail adventure where you’ll read along with our featured story while discovering the natural world around you. It’s the perfect way to celebrate our planet, encourage young readers, and connect with the environment.
April 25: 2026 Spring Soils Festival
Durham Public Schools Hub Farm, 10 am – 1 pm
Come learn about compost critters with us! Families will be able to explore the Hub Farm while participating in fun and educational hands-on activities that promote soil health, composting, and biodiversity. The event features music, a summer plant giveaway, delicious food, fishing, arts and crafts, and more.
