DURHAM, NC — The Museum of Life and Science and Bond Brothers Beer Company announced today the launch of Citrusaurus Wheat, a beer brewed to celebrate community, curiosity, and the Triangle’s craft beer culture.

“We at the Museum are thrilled to partner with Bond Brothers in this cool and unique collaboration,” said Ciara Cole, the Museum’s manager of fundraising events. “Citrusaurus Wheat represents our efforts to create spaces of lifelong learning and our dedication to inspire a shared sense of community across the Triangle.”

The exclusive brew debuted at the Museum during AfterHours: Bees, Beer, and Butterflies on August 17, and is now available for purchase by guests ages 21 and older with IDs.

“Our AfterHours Events audience will truly enjoy this as guests have always loved their science with a side of beer,” Cole said.

Citrusaurus Wheat is an easy-drinking beer made from malted barley, malted wheat, and a citrusy German hop called Mandarina Bavaria. The beer is 5.8% ABV, with big grapefruit aroma up front, some crackery malt sweetness through the beer, and a pleasant grapefruit and lime finish.

“We thought of what was already at the Museum, as well as what type of holes we had in our taplist,” said Whit Baker, one of Bond Brothers’ co-founders. “We don’t have anything in the wheat zone that we make on a regular basis. We settled on a citrus wheat to keep it approachable but boldly flavored for all the Museumgoers as well as our taproom clientele here in Cary.”

Citrusaurus Wheat is available on draft at Hops & Vine at the Museum of Life and Science, and at the Bond Brothers taproom in Cary, NC.

About Bond Brothers Beer Company

Bond Brothers Beer Company started as a group of brewers competing in local and regional homebrew competitions. Their success in these competitions fueled the desire to brew on a commercial level. Certified Cicerone Brewmaster Whit Baker and crew have developed a vast array of proven recipes to satisfy all craft beer lovers. Whether you enjoy Stouts, IPAs, Saisons or Sours, Bond Brothers beer offerings are sure to please. Bond Brothers decided to make historic downtown Cary their home. They chose downtown Cary based largely on the revitalization movement taking place there. Their recently completed industrial modern space is quickly becoming a popular epicenter in the downtown community. With over 9000 square feet of brewery, taproom and beer garden to enjoy, they have built a destination that matches the quality of their beers. There are 14 unique beers on tap, a robust barrel sour program, monthly guided brewery tours, and a kid/dog friendly environment. Bond Brothers Beer Company has created a must-see destination in the heart of the Triangle.
